University Troy, AL 36082 Carla Gallahan is Assistant Professor of Music Education at Troy University
in Troy, Alabama. She received the Bachelor of Music Education Degree and the Master of Education in Music at Auburn University
and is currently pursuing the Doctor of Philosophy in Music Education. As a member of the faculty at Troy University, her
responsibilities include teaching music education courses, instructing the horn studio, supervising student interns, and serving
as an Associate Conductor with the university bands.
Her teaching background includes eighteen years experience in the Alabama
public schools. From 1989-2005, Ms. Gallahan served as band director in the Auburn City Schools in Auburn, Alabama. Under
her direction, the bands at Auburn Junior High School and J.F. Drake Middle School consistently received superior ratings
at contests and festivals. The band also performed as the clinic band for composer Frank Erickson, performed at the Southeastern
United States Concert Band Clinic, and performed at the Alabama Music Educators Association In-service Conference. Ms. Gallahan is a member of the Montgomery Symphony Orchestra and former chairman of District VI of
the Alabama Bandmasters Association. She was selected to Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers and Outstanding Young
Women of America, has been chosen as Auburn Junior High School Teacher of the Year, Auburn City Schools Secondary Teacher
of the Year, and has served as a clinician and adjudicator throughout the Southeast. Her professional affiliations include
the Music Educators National Conference, Alabama Music Educators Association, Alabama Bandmasters Association, Phi Delta Kappa,

Zach Dobos, President zdobos@troy.edu Graduate Student
Zach "Bearcat" Dobos received his undergraduate degree in Music Education from Troy University in the Spring
2008 semester and is currently working on his graduate degree. Zach has performed many times with the Troy Symphony Orchestra,
the Troy University Horn Ensemble, and the Troy University Symphony Band. He was part of the Symphony Band's Steve Melillo
recording projects in 2006 and 2007 and the Carl Vollrath recordings in 2008, He is also the librarian graduate assistant
for the Sound of the South marching band. As the president of Troy's CMENC, he has sought to push the group to be more active
and sucessful.

Chris Jeter, Vice President cjeter@troy.edu Music Education Major
Chris Jeter is currently a junior Music Education major at Troy University. He has performed
many times with the Troy Symphony Orchestra, Troy University Symphony Band, Troy University Trumpet Ensemble, TS Brass!, and
Troy University Jazz Ensemble. He was part of the Symphony Band's Steve Melillo recording project in 2007 and the Carl Vollrath
recordings in 2008, and he performed with the Troy University Trumpet Ensemble at the International Trumpet Guild conference
in 2007. Chris is also the section leader of the Sound of the South trumpet section.
